The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Rocket League: But It's Not the Car You're Dreaming Of
We already knew that The Simpsons was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole destination where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be usable in Fortnite. That said, if gamers will truly desire to use it is another question, as fans have their hearts set on just one Springfield vehicle the community is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most players would absolutely enjoy to compete behind the wheel of The Homer—the notoriously impractical automobile Homer built himself in the 1991 installment "the one where he meets Herb"—that's not what's being offered. Not even receiving the massive SUV, the heavy-duty truck featured in season 10. Rather, fans are getting the family's everyday well-worn sedan, which they've been driving since 1989. Even though this particular car has seen better days, it stands as an iconic element of the show. And for players who pay attention to the game's car hitboxes, the trusty sedan uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

More Than Just a Car
And it's not the sole cosmetic from the show arriving in Rocket League. The event will additionally feature a set of objectives to unlock more rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. As detailed in a press release, the challenges will task participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's years on air, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to the Simpson residence, and drive a distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
While the complete list of earnable items hasn't been revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:

- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it appears players will also get wheels featuring a TV displaying The Simpsons' opening credits, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects themed to burning tires and Krusty Burger.
Launch Dates and Crossover Details
The Rocket League collaboration lines up with the extensive Simpsons takeover of Fortnite, which includes a brand-new map of Springfield, in addition to a month-long Battle Pass. This special Rocket League and Simpsons event launches on November 1st and concludes on Nov. 17.
